Zylfie Haklaj, sister of Fatmir Haklaj, reacted after the court decided to open the file of Azem Hajdari. She is taking refuge in Sweden and her story is like something out of a movie. Read below a file published 5 years ago by the famous journalist Artan Hoxha
Convinced that the Haklajs were already finished and were barely resisting within the fortified walls of the centuries-old tower in Kërnajë, their opponents made a serious mistake that cost them dearly. On April 2, 2002, Rasim Lumneshi, a well-known name not only in Tropoja, became the next victim in what is now called the “Tropoja File”.
Lumneshi and his family had left Tropoja since the early 1990s to settle in Fier. He was the owner of one of the most beautiful hotels in Fier, called “Shkëlzeni”. Rasim was also well-known among the democrats throughout the country. Not only as an ardent supporter and sponsor of the DP, but also as a personal friend of the democratic leader Sali Berisha.
Even during a rally in the city of Fier, Rasim Lumneshi intervened energetically, saving the opposition leader from an attack with a grenade. He was accused by the prosecution as one of the main organizers of the events of September 14, 1998 in Tirana, a criminal offense for which he was arrested and within 48 hours was released again due to lack of evidence.
The Lumneshi family had had good relations with the Haklaj family, and their sons even kept company until the moment the bloodshed of Tropoja began. For the Haklajs, Rasim Lumneshi was considered a brave and courageous boy, as a person who had inherited many of the values and traditions of the Gjakova Highlands.
