Scientists Claim Breakthrough Would Allow Babies To Be Born Without A Biological Mother

For years, scientists have asked the question, ‘What if we could just get rid of women altogether?’ They have invested millions of hours and billions of dollars into finding ways to make them obsolete. Not so long ago, a Chinese scientist announced the ‘pregnancy robot’ that would replace a flesh-and-blood mother. But, it wasn’t good enough. It still needed a female egg to become impregnated.

Now, however, a discovery by the Oregon Health and Science University claims that no biological mother is needed in the production of babies.
Using cells taken from any human body, scientists claim that babies can be created. The expiration date on eggs is a thing of the past. As long as there’s some sperm around, new life can happen.

Simply Cells
For this marvel of modern medicine to occur, all that is required is one cell from the donor. This single cell contains all the genetic code needed to create a new life. The cell is then implanted into an egg. The egg, first, needs to have its genetic code removed, making it a blank canvas for a new life.

The egg is then implanted in a womb, be it artificial or human, and the baby begins to grow.

Equal benefits: Despite this being an absolute breakthrough for the boys, there are benefits for the women, too. In some cases, women will be left infertile. Advanced age and chemotherapy, among other things, can leave the eggs in a damaged state. But, with this new technology, women will be able to have children whenever they want.

It’s still early days for the breakthrough, but more research is being put into it. Being able to have babies without a biological mother could have many implications for the future. Some of them are fantastic, such as babies for same sex couples and women without eggs. However, some of them are absolutely terrifying, such as being able to have a child without any real human involvement.

I leave my cells everywhere. What if someone decides they want to take my world-class genetics to create an army of superhumans? It’s now totally possible.
